There were many highlights but top ones include the most delicious lunch in a Berber family kasbah (best bread ever), seeing how Berber rugs are made at a cooperative and haggling for a small one, camel ride, tented camp, sand surfing and quad bikes in the Sahara, visiting Nomads in the desert and eating Nomad pizza, walking (& climbing) through the Monkey Fingers in the Dades Gorge, Ait Ben Haddou & the Atlas Studios .I could go on! We loved every minute and arrived back in Marrakech exhausted but very happy. If you are doing this trip we advise a day or two to relax afterwards!! The camel ride was enjoyable because it’s very different from riding a horse and it’s also beautiful as they make sure to take you during sunset. After the sun sets, we arrived just on time to our Berber camp (the people indigenous to Morocco). There, they treated us to an epic tagine, good company, and Berber music around the fire. We finished the night with star gazing before sleeping in a luxury tent (compared to regular camping ofc). The next morning, it’s mostly driving back except for a very enjoyable lunch on a balcony with mountains hovering over you. I’m glad we did it and next time will probably do a 3-4 day trip.

Disclaimers you should know:
1. it’s a LOT of driving about 6 hours each day total. The first day is broken up with stops to a mountainside cafe, a town that’s been around since the 12th century and where they filmed many famous movies including the gladiator.

2. The camel ride is a lot of fun but be warned that the dunes are pretty small since we only get to the tip of the Sahara desert. If you want to get deep into the desert, you have to do a 3 or 4 day trip.

3. Bring layers if you’re going in the winter cuz it cools down a lot. I wore two layers of pants and two sweatshirts. I recommend a hat and gloves too.

3 day desert tour from Marrakesh to Fes - Amazing trip. A great way to see the beauty of Morocco. We travelled to and spent a night in the Sahara which was the highlight, truly beautiful. Air Ben Haddou... read more was incredible too. Our driver Ismail was very accommodating, generous and always happy to answer questions. Pack generously for the cold at night in the Sahara, especially in the winter. We did not choose the luxury option for accommodation in the Sahara but from talking to people, it seems highly highly worth it. You get to go a lot further into the desert, have a hot shower, and I’m sure a better nights sleep.

Best Guides and Tours Around!!! 5 Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - What an amazing day!! We were picked up right on time from an easy to find location arranged in advance. Our driver, Ismail was friendly, helpful, knowledgable and fun. He... read more took us out of Marrakesh and towards the Ouzoud Waterfalls. Along the way he took the time to tell us about the area, the people and even (tried to) teach us some basic phrases. We stopped briefly for coffee/tea and bathrooms and then continued on. Once we arrived to the waterfalls he asked if we would prefer a private guide for the hike and made sure that we were in capable hands.

It was raining the day of our tour which meant the trail was a little more difficult, but our guide was extremely helpful... even offering a helping hand when we got to some of the more muddy areas on the trail down. We stopped to see the monkeys and then went on through the olive and fig trees. He was extremely knowledgable and answered all the questions we might have. Once we reached the base of the falls we were able to go out on the water in a small boat and we joked that it reminded us of the "Lady of the Mist" boat at Niagra because we were able to get so close to the falls.

On the way back up there were small shops and even some restaurants to have lunch at. Once we were back at the top Ismail was waiting for us to bring us back to Marrakech. Along the way we needed to use the toilet and he stopped multiple times until he found us a western style toilet!!!

These guys went above and beyond to make sure that we had a great experience! 10/10 recommend booking with them. We will definitely be taking another tour with Discover Sahara Tours the next time we are in Morocco!!

Awesome Sahara experience  - An amazing experience from start to finish! The Sahara stay itself is incredible with Camel Rides, Nomads, Berber cuisine and great music.

We also had an amazing driver and guide Houssine who looked after us very well.

For the camp it is well worth booking the luxury accommodation with your own private bathroom.

I recommend going to Mareuecos with a guide because of the issue of communication with natives. Every day we slept in different hotels, all very good and very clean. We loved the experience
