The Sahara stay itself is incredible with Camel Rides, Nomads, Berber cuisine and great music.

We also had an amazing driver and guide Houssine who looked after us very well.

For the camp it is well worth booking the luxury accommodation with your own private bathroom.

He brought the whole experience to life with his deep knowledge, sharp humor, generosity and kindness. All of the guides at the camp were absolute legends too! I feel like I have made lifelong friends on this trip. I couldn’t recommend this adventure highly enough especially if Moham is your guide! Just book it!

Ismail is... read more a very nice guy, always smiling, sociable and likes to explain the information about cities and Moroccan culture. He is a really good driver and very respectful.
On the first day, we passed through the Atlas in direction to Ait-Ben-Haddou, where we had a tour visit with Said to know a little bit more about berbere culture. We ate an amazing chicken tagine there. Then we head to Zagora, where we had a team of Caravane du sud waiting for us with the dromedaries. We had a 1h ride on the dromedary accompanied by our friendly guide, Mohammed, to our camp. We arrived just on time to watch a magical sunset in the desert. We chose a luxury camp, that was absolutely amazing, with a tent with all the commodities that we could need. The tent was heated, with carpets on the floor, beds for all of us, and private toilets with shower. We had dinner on a tent restaurant, with really good and traditional food. At night all the guests reunited around the bonfire listening typical music and dancing. The sky is absolutely amazing and perfect to see the stars. On the next day we watched the sunrise in the mountains (after a nice breakfast). Then we returned with Ismail back to Marrakech, with a stop in Ouarzazate and Middle Atlas.
Ismail was a really nice company, and made this experience unique! I felt very safe during the trip, and Ismail always let us comfortable to choose which places to visit during the trip.
All the organization made this experience even more pleasant. It was also richer to know more about Moroccan culture and discuss the differences between European culture.
Really recommend this experience.

p.s. just be careful riding the dromedary.

2 great trips . One amazing experience. - I found Discover Sahara Tours online when looking for trips for my wife's birthday whilst on holiday in Morocco. I was given lots of advice on different trips offered,... read more and settled for a 1 day private tour including quad biking and a romantic dinner for 2 in the Agafay desert, then a 2 day private tour to Essaouira from Marrakech.

Our driver Mohammad for both trips was excellent. He was very knowledgeable, polite, flexible, nothing was too much trouble and even though we can speak French he was happy to talk to us in English (his English was very good).

The 1 day trip to Agafay took us quad biking as a private tour away from any big groups. The company used were very professional, safe and fun. Then onto a camp in the desert where we had the most amazing private dinner in a tent looking out over the desert. Again the company used was superb, attentive staff with great food and polite musicians.

The 2 day trip to Essaouira from Marrakech built in stops at cooperatives to see how argan oil is produced, (No hard sell) then on arrival checked us in to a fabulous Riad called Madada (available through the Royal package we chose). The trip included lunch and dinner at local restaurants and a private guided tour of the town. Our guide Hassan was excellent. We were given plenty of time to explore by ourselves but Mohammad our driver was always available if we needed help or to take us to the restaurants.

Overall our experience was 1st class, a credit to exploring in Morocco. Thank you Rene for guiding us through and arranging the booking , and for being flexible when we had to make changes). Thank you Mohammad for being an excellent guide.
