Great tour of Morocco desert (and more!) - Great experience!

Fun journey to a beautiful starry night in the desert - My two favorite parts of this trip (the five star portions in my opinion) was seeing the gorgeous starry night sky in the desert and the drive to the desert... read more with our drive Ismael. Ismael was very informative on the various sights we passed on the drive, but also let us sit with the beauty of the scenery on the drive as we silently listened to music. It was the perfect combination of quiet moment and social interaction. He also made sure to check in on us at various points throughout the drive and was as accommodating as he could be. My friend and I booked the desert trip specifically for the night sky and it did not disappoint. Seeing the sky full of stars shining so bright was a breathtaking sight and an absolutely unforgettable moment. The camel ride was a lovely moment to take in nature and sit with your thoughts. With that being said the camel ride was longer than I expected as well as the large amount of soreness that followed afterwards. If you have any pelvic, hip, or lower back issues than the camel ride may not be the best option for you. Definitely make sure you have dirhams for the various pit stops on the journey, food, and for tipping the various guides.
*There are showers and bathrooms on the campsite which were very clean. The shower pressure wasn’t great but still felt amazing after a long day of traveling & exploring!*

A trip made by the people - I went on a 2-day trip to Zagora desert and the highlight of the entire experience was our driver and guide, Ismael.

Sat in the front, Ismael was incredibly... read more friendly and talkative, happy to explain everything to do with Morocco from his perspective, and offered a really honest view of tourism, politics, the experience of people during the lack of rain, and more! Ismael is really funny and we made jokes throughout the journey, making it seem much shorter than it was.

Ismael showed us really interesting stops along our journey and has a great understanding of the land. He also worked well with the Berber people running out desert camp, who were all fantastic and really engaging.

I cannot recommend this enough- Discover Sahara Tours is Ismael's own business and he was so excited to give tourists his version of the desert experience! Here are some photos.

An awesome action packed adventure!  - This was such a fun and action packed trip. We saw so many interesting and beautiful sights and had so many adventures! There were many highlights but top ones include the most delicious lunch in a Berber family kasbah (best bread ever), seeing how Berber rugs are made at a cooperative and haggling for a small one, camel ride, tented camp, sand surfing and quad bikes in the Sahara, visiting Nomads in the desert and eating Nomad pizza, walking (& climbing) through the Monkey Fingers in the Dades Gorge, Ait Ben Haddou & the Atlas Studios .I could go on! We loved every minute and arrived back in Marrakech exhausted but very happy. If you are doing this trip we advise a day or two to relax afterwards!!
