2 great trips . One amazing experience. - I found Discover Sahara Tours online when looking for trips for my wife's birthday whilst on holiday in Morocco. I was given lots of advice on different trips offered,... read more and settled for a 1 day private tour including quad biking and a romantic dinner for 2 in the Agafay desert, then a 2 day private tour to Essaouira from Marrakech.

Our driver Mohammad for both trips was excellent. He was very knowledgeable, polite, flexible, nothing was too much trouble and even though we can speak French he was happy to talk to us in English (his English was very good).

The 1 day trip to Agafay took us quad biking as a private tour away from any big groups. The company used were very professional, safe and fun. Then onto a camp in the desert where we had the most amazing private dinner in a tent looking out over the desert. Again the company used was superb, attentive staff with great food and polite musicians.

The 2 day trip to Essaouira from Marrakech built in stops at cooperatives to see how argan oil is produced, (No hard sell) then on arrival checked us in to a fabulous Riad called Madada (available through the Royal package we chose). The trip included lunch and dinner at local restaurants and a private guided tour of the town. Our guide Hassan was excellent. We were given plenty of time to explore by ourselves but Mohammad our driver was always available if we needed help or to take us to the restaurants.

Overall our experience was 1st class, a credit to exploring in Morocco. Thank you Rene for guiding us through and arranging the booking , and for being flexible when we had to make changes). Thank you Mohammad for being an excellent guide.

Excellent - Ismail is the greatest guide guy we could’ve had! We learnt a lot of his life and he was happy to share. He came to pick up us early in... read more the morning and made everything comfortable to us. He would stop on all the spots to let us take some pictures and he offered to take the pictures for us.
Small details, he would guide me to buy the greatest dates in the village!

Tent trip  - We were driven by a very Nice driver(Azdin) to the start of the trip . We passed Some Nice places for Nice pictures . The camel ride was a... read more lot of fun . The tent camp was extremely Nice . You could do Some sandboarding ! Really big fun for the kids ! The food was good ! Even the showers were Nice although we were in a tentcamp. At the evening there was Some live music and people starter dancing . The next day we went back by camel to our van to go back to marrakesh. This all was in good hands by our guide .

Worth every single penny! - This tour was worth every penny! It should be in everyone's bucket list. We were 8 people in a nice, clean van with Ismael, from Marrakesh to Fes, with several... read more stops during the 3-day tour. Ismael is an excellent driver. It was awesome how everything was planned and on time at all the stops. We learned a lot about the Berber culture and visited different communities and Kasbahs. On the second day of our stop, we had a walking tour with Said, a beautiful morning walk around Tinghir. We stopped in a Kasbah to learn about the berber’s carpets, colors, and symbol meanings. We did not enjoy the food at some of the stops, so we went to other places nearby, and we found better prices and a more authentic experience than in the traditional “tourist traps”. The food stops for lunch are something that they need to improve. Of course, the best part is on the second night when we rode the camels to see the sunset and then arrived at our tents in the desert. If you have issues with your back or shoulders, I suggest you try to go to the tents by car. Everything in the desert was perfect. The food was abundant and delicious (when we were full and ready to go, they gave us the best Lamb Tahine we had on our whole trip. The tents were incredibly comfortable, with running water and an Occidental toilet. We had a firepit at night with live music under the stars. The sky was fantastic!!! Stargazing was very easy, even near some of the lights in the camp. We went in December, so you need to be prepared for a very cold night/morning.

Marrakesh to Fes via Sahara - Our driver, Ismail, has been lovely for the entire trip, explaining us things along the way and being super helpful.

A trip made by the people - I went on a 2-day trip to Zagora desert and the highlight of the entire experience was our driver and guide, Ismael.

Sat in the front, Ismael was incredibly... read more friendly and talkative, happy to explain everything to do with Morocco from his perspective, and offered a really honest view of tourism, politics, the experience of people during the lack of rain, and more! Ismael is really funny and we made jokes throughout the journey, making it seem much shorter than it was.

Ismael showed us really interesting stops along our journey and has a great understanding of the land. He also worked well with the Berber people running out desert camp, who were all fantastic and really engaging.

I cannot recommend this enough- Discover Sahara Tours is Ismael's own business and he was so excited to give tourists his version of the desert experience! Here are some photos.
