Day 1: Marrakech - Casablanca - Rabat

Your journey begins in vibrant Marrakech, where you'll set off for Casablanca, Morocco's largest city. Visit the iconic Hassan II Mosque, a masterpiece of Moroccan architecture, set against the Atlantic coast. After exploring Casablanca, head to Rabat, Morocco’s capital city, where you’ll see the ancient Hassan Tower, the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, and the stunning Andalusian gardens of the Kasbah of the Udayas. Day 2: Rabat - Volubilis - Meknes

Depart from Rabat and journey to the Roman ruins of Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage site that offers a fascinating glimpse into ancient Roman life in North Africa. This short drive will give you more time to explore Fes’s ancient medina, filled with labyrinthine alleys, vibrant souks, and centuries-old madrasas. In the afternoon, visit the famous Al-Qarawiyyin University, the oldest continuously operating university in the world, and take in the stunning views of the city from the Borj Sud fortress. Visit iconic sites such as the Bou Inania Madrasa, the Nejjarine Fountain, and the bustling tanneries. In the afternoon, enjoy exploring traditional crafts and sample local delicacies at food stalls throughout the medina. Day 5: Fes - Ifrane - Midelt

Leaving the lively streets of Fes behind, journey toward the town of Midelt, nestled in the Middle Atlas Mountains. En route, pass through picturesque cedar forests and stop at Ifrane, often called “Little Switzerland” for its Alpine-style architecture. Continue through the mountains, where you may spot Barbary macaques in the cedar forests. Arrive in Midelt, a serene town known for its apple orchards and stunning mountain views, and enjoy a peaceful evening surrounded by natural beauty.

Day 6: Midelt - Erfoud - Merzouga

Today, journey southward toward the Sahara Desert, passing through scenic valleys and traditional Berber villages. Along the way, make an optional stop in Erfoud, a desert town known for its amazing fossils. As the sun sinks to the horizon, arrive in Merzouga, a gateway to the vast dunes of Erg Chebbi. Here, you’ll experience a camel trek into the golden dunes at sunset, a magical introduction to the Sahara. Spend the night in a desert camp under a star-studded sky, surrounded by the tranquil beauty of the desert.

Day 7: Desert Excursion with Nomads

Immerse yourself in the desert lifestyle with a full-day excursion around the dunes. Visit a traditional nomadic family and gain insights into their way of life, customs, and stories of the desert. You’ll also explore the surrounding area, including the abandoned khol mine town of Mfis and the village of Khemliya where you'll visit a local cooperative preserving the historical Ganaou music tradition. After lunch in the village you can choose to include a hour long quad bike ride in the dunes for added adventure, or return to your camp to relax and take in the grandeur of the dunes. Later, enjoy an evening around the campfire, with traditional music and storytelling under the desert sky.

Day 8: Merzouga - Todra Gorge - Dades Gorge

Bid farewell to the desert as you journey through the dramatic landscapes of southern Morocco before arriving in Todra Gorge. Wander through the high cliffs of this natural wonder, known for its red-rock formations and towering canyon walls. Continue to the Dades Gorge, where you’ll wind through scenic mountain roads and discover breathtaking vistas of the Dades Valley below. Spend the night in the gorge, surrounded by rugged beauty and the peaceful sounds of nature.

Day 9: Dades Gorge - Ouarzazate - Ait Ben Haddou

Begin your day traveling west towards Ouarzazate. Cross through the Valley of Roses that comes alive with thousands of rose bushes in April and May. Next explore the city of Ouarzazate, often referred to as the Hollywood of Africa, home to the Kasbah Taourirt and Atlas Movie Studios. Finally, arrive at the famed Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of Morocco’s most iconic ksar (fortified villages). Walk through this ancient town’s narrow streets, explore its mudbrick buildings, and learn about its role in numerous films and TV shows. Capture views of the surrounding valley from the hilltop, offering a glimpse into Morocco’s fascinating history and architecture. Enjoy an overnight stay near this historic marvel.
