Our tour operator, Ismail, was a great driver and guide throughout the entire journey.

I am so glad we decided to go with four days vs a three day tour. Being in the car was not as stressful and tiring, and an extra day in the Sahara was great to have a slower day before a long drive back to Marrakech.

In speaking with other travelers in different tour groups, they seemed to be really on the go/nonstop, which felt too stressful if you had an extra day. So, I'd highly recommend this four-day tour!

I was given lots of advice on different trips offered,... read more and settled for a 1 day private tour including quad biking and a romantic dinner for 2 in the Agafay desert, then a 2 day private tour to Essaouira from Marrakech.

Our driver Mohammad for both trips was excellent. He was very knowledgeable, polite, flexible, nothing was too much trouble and even though we can speak French he was happy to talk to us in English (his English was very good).

The 1 day trip to Agafay took us quad biking as a private tour away from any big groups. The company used were very professional, safe and fun. Then onto a camp in the desert where we had the most amazing private dinner in a tent looking out over the desert. Again the company used was superb, attentive staff with great food and polite musicians.

The 2 day trip to Essaouira from Marrakech built in stops at cooperatives to see how argan oil is produced, (No hard sell) then on arrival checked us in to a fabulous Riad called Madada (available through the Royal package we chose). The trip included lunch and dinner at local restaurants and a private guided tour of the town. Our guide Hassan was excellent. We were given plenty of time to explore by ourselves but Mohammad our driver was always available if we needed help or to take us to the restaurants.

Overall our experience was 1st class, a credit to exploring in Morocco. Thank you Rene for guiding us through and arranging the booking , and for being flexible when we had to make changes). Thank you Mohammad for being an excellent guide.

One of the highlights was the quad ride back from the desert camp. It was a fantastic experience that allowed us to explore the higher dunes and take in breathtaking panoramic views of the desert landscape. We highly recommend this (extra paying) option for anyone visiting!

Being private, it certainly gave us the flexibility of where and how long we wanted to stop during the journey. The Berber camp, its people and the hospitality was top notch, not to forget the amazing buffet dinner to end the day.

I definitely recommend this to all visiting Marrakesh and have 2 days to spare.
